Simcoe Contemporary Dancers (SCD) is excited to announce the launch of their Kickstarter campaign to support artist fees in our upcoming season. This initiative underscores our commitment to fair compensation for the talented artists who bring our innovative performances to life. By contributing to the campaign, supporters will help ensure that these dedicated dancers and choreographers are fairly compensated for their creativity and hard work, enabling them to continue to inspire and engage the community with their artistry.
Creating captivating dance performances is an extensive process. It involves many hours of rehearsals, creative brainstorming, and perfecting every step. Our artists commit their lives to this craft.
Beyond our art, our administrative staff spend countless hours writing grants, speaking to funders, and engaging with supporters in support our work. Over the last few years, grants and other forms of financial support for the arts have become even harder to come by as funding is reduced across the Province and the competition for funding becomes fiercer. We are starting this Kickstarter in the hopes that we can connect with folks in our community who can help support our artists to continue to do what they love and bring exciting contemporary dance opportunities to our community.

How Your Contribution Helps
Your generous support will go towards Artist Fees including rehearsal and performance fees. With this support you allow us to ensure our dancers and choreographers are fairly compensated for their time, effort, and creativity in accordance to Canadian Alliance for Dance Artists Standard Rates of Pay for Dance.
